Shutterfly Names Media Executive Janet Ryan as Vice President of Sponsorships

NEW YORK, Sep 22, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Shutterfly, Inc. (NASDAQ:SFLY), the leading Internet-based social expression and personal publishing service, today announced at the 2008 MIXX 2.8 Conference, that Janet Ryan has been named vice president of sponsorships. Ms. Ryan will report to Shutterfly’s Senior Vice President of Business and Corporate Development, Doug Galen.

In this newly created position, Ms. Ryan will be responsible for developing the Shutterfly Sponsorship Program. The program provides select marketers access to Shutterfly’s premium audience through integrated sponsorships, custom “communities of interest”, relevant content feeds and traditional banner advertising. It gives marketers access to Shutterfly’s innovative platform, allowing for deeper consumer engagement and a differentiated experience while respectfully interacting with Shutterfly’s large and valuable customer base.

Janet Ryan has more than 30 years of experience in sales, management, marketing and business development with companies from start-ups to well known media firms. Most recently, Ms. Ryan served as interim chief of advertising and sponsorships at TeeBeeDee.com, a social network site for baby boomers. Prior to TeeBeeDee.com, she was vice president and publisher at IDG where she was responsible for integrating Macworld magazine and its many associated websites. Ms. Ryan was vice president of sales at Big Book, the first online yellow pages and prior to that spent over a decade in the publishing industry with Ziff Davis and McGraw-Hill, holding a range of positions spanning sales, marketing and publishing. Ms. Ryan earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Marketing and Management from Lehigh University.
